Robert McDonald appointed to Court of Appeals

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Gov. Martin O'Malley has announced judicial appointments, including one to the state's highest court.
O'Malley, a Democrat, said Thursday he has appointed Robert McDonald to the Court of Appeals. McDonald is the chief counsel of opinions and advice for the office of the attorney general.
He will replace Judge Joseph Murphy Jr., to represent Baltimore and Harford counties on the bench.
O'Malley also announced the appointment of Stuart Berger to the Court of Special Appeals, Maryland's intermediate appellate court.
Berger has been a Circuit Court judge for Baltimore city since 1998.
