Smith starts for Locklear at LT for Redskins
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) - The Washington Redskins made a lineup change for Sunday's game against the New York Giants, starting Willie Smith at left tackle for Sean Locklear.
Smith, who had been splitting snaps in practice this week, will go against Giants right end Jason Pierre-Paul, the NFC defensive player of the week.
Tyler Polumbus gets his second straight start at right tackle for the injured Jammal Brown.
Reed Doughty starts for the third straight week at strong safety with LaRon Landy now on injured reserve.
The Giants didn't have much to do after ruling out defensive end Osi Umenyiora, center David Baas, tight end Travis Beckum, linebacker Mark Herzlich and cornerback Derrick Martin on Friday. Defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy and offensive tackle James Brewer also are inactivate.
