A new analysis in the online journal "Cancer," published by the American Cancer Society, found that breast cancer survivors may experience cognitive problems several years after treatment.

The study compared women who were treated with chemotherapy and radiation, women who were only treated with radiation and women with no history of cancer.

Findings confirmed previous research that chemotherapy can cause memory problems and concentration, up to three years after treatment ends.

However, those who received radiation-only treatment often had problems similar to those who received both chemo and radiation, suggesting chemo was not solely to blame for the side effects.
