Toys-R-Us staying open 24 hours
With only five days left before Christmas, Toys-R-Us has decided to stay open 24 hours a day through Christmas Eve.
Beginning Wednesday, some retailers like the toy giant are opening their doors at 6 a.m. and will keep registers going nonstop until 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve, giving eleventh-hour shoppers 112 hours of uninterrupted shopping mania.
"That's amazing," said shopper Samantha Watson. "I think that's great. It's convenient for people who can't get here during the day, like working moms and dads."
Samuel Tarekegn is cutting it close to Christmas in the hopes of snatching this year's must-have LeapPad and waiting on Uncle Sam.
"Based on my paycheck, I want to shop this week," Tarekegn said.
Toys-R-Us is operating on a round-the-clock basis because it still receives shipments through Christmas Eve.
