JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. (AP) — A Joint Base Lewis-McChord spokesman says two Army helicopters have crashed on the base, killing four soldiers.
An earlier report from a base spokesman indicated two other soldiers were injured. However, spokesman J.C. Mathews says the two OH-58 Kiowa helicopters that crashed Monday night were both two-seat aircraft.
They crashed in the southwest training area of the base near Tacoma, Wash.
None of the victims was immediately identified pending notification of relatives.
