William and Kate: Christmas will be a charitable holiday season
Daybreak Daily’s afternoon nose-on-the-window gaze at the pop-culture world finds a Royal couple planning for the holidays, a ‘Who Dat’ Sesame Street, other things, and the mystery music video.
A ROYAL CHRISTMAS: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have mapped out their holiday plans, and we provide it to you as a public service, per People, “On Dec. 21, William and Kate will see the work of Centrepoint, the organization that works to help homeless young people aged 16-25. William, patron of the charity, was introduced to it by his late mother. . . Meanwhile, the couple are to spend their first Christmas together at the Queen's home, Sandringham, with the rest of the royals.” http://bit.ly/rx97hL
’GLEE’ LOSING STEAM: Perhaps more Sue Sylvester? Per the Los Angeles Times, “(It) has shed 23% of its audience compared with last season even after DVR viewing is factored in, according to Nielsen. A 3-D movie tie-in was released in August and drew disappointing box office. Sales of the "Glee" albums — 13 in all, featuring the show's signature, chorus-style covers of pop hits — have plummeted lately compared with earlier efforts.” http://lat.ms/v9RNao
SPEAKING OF LOSING STEAM: You betcha! Asking price nearly $1 million per episode. The Hollywood Reporter reports “that (Sarah) Palin and (producer Mark) Burnett are pitching another reality series, this one more focused on Palin’s husband Todd and his career as a championship snowmobile racer. But for now, TLC owner Discovery Communications has passed, say sources. And A&E Networks, which entered into a bidding war with Discovery for Sarah Palin's Alaska, also is not interested.” http://bit.ly/sDTj0v
OOPS: Trying to contact Justin Bieber, Charlie Sheen messed up on Twitter, per London’s Daily Mail, “The former Two and a Half Men star thought that he was just sending his (phone number) to the teenage singer but instead his 5.5million followers were able to view the number - until it was swiftly taken down.” http://bit.ly/tcwO2B
MEANWHILE: Bad news for Charlie’s ex, per Radaronline, “Brooke Mueller must appear in a Aspen, Colorado courtroom on Monday, December 19, for her arraignment in her felony cocaine possession case, and Chief Deputy District Attorney Arnold Mordkin tells RadarOnline.com that no deal has been reached in the case, and there certainly won't be one made prior to the hearing on Monday.” http://bit.ly/s4zYI8
CRITICAL CHOICES: Knew some dude in college who was an artist. His name was Hugo. Seriously. Anyway, per Deadline Hollywood, “Two movies dealing with the earliest days of the film industry, Martin Scorcese’s Hugo from GK Films/Paramount and the black and white silent The Artist from The Weinstein Company, both scored a near-record 11 nominations each today in the Broadcast Film Critics Association’s 17th Annual Critics Choice Movie Awards.” http://bit.ly/tfBEAC
SESAME ‘BOURBON’ STREET: Who dat?!?! Per the AP, “New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is making a special appearance on Thursday’s episode of the educational children’s TV show. He visited the set a few months ago to record the segment, which co-stars the street’s furry red resident, Elmo.” http://apne.ws/sn8xei
GAGA AS AMY?: Hey, could be cool, per E!, “Amy Winehouse's life story, while tragic, would certainly make for a memorable movie. And there are rumors running rampant that Lady Gaga might actually take on the role of the late singer! And get this. Amy's father, Mitch Winehouse, has supposedly given his stamp of approval on the casting.” http://eonli.ne/uNBdzY
PUB FOR SIMON COWELL: This “controversy” keeps percolating, so without further delay, per Us Weekly, “Is there a scandal brewing on The X Factor set? Thirteen-year-old Rachel Crow was given the boot on Thursday's shocking results show, and as the teen standout reels from her early exit, judges Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul are feeling the heat from outraged fans.” http://bit.ly/rTpdgy
AND FINALLY: Today’s mystery music video. http://bit.ly/9rW0Jt
