Two killed in separate shootings in NE

A man and a woman were fatally shot in two separate shootings in the Northeast overnight, police said.
At 6:45 p.m. Saturday, a man was shot and killed in the 1100 block of 21st Street NE, said Metropolitan Police Commander Andy Solberg.
About 12:30 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the 500 block of 23rd Place NE for a shooting, police said.
First District officers found a woman inside of a residence suffering a gunshot wound to her face.
The death is being investigated as a homicide, police said.
No other information was immediately available on either incident.
