Anthony McIntosh charged in connection with Ronnie White death
WASHINGTON (AP) - A former corrections officer in Prince George's County is facing federal charges stemming from the death of a detainee who had been accused of killing a county police officer.
Anthony McIntosh was arrested in New York City on Thursday, accused of failing to alert emergency workers after finding an inmate unresponsive in his cell in June 2008.
An indictment unsealed Thursday charges McIntosh with a federal civil rights violation and with two counts of destroying or falsifying records in a federal investigation.
Ronnie White was found dead in his jail cell days after he was arrested in the hit-and-run death of Cpl. Richard Findley.
The state medical examiner had ruled the 19-year-old was strangled and declared the death a homicide Court records don't show an attorney for McIntosh.
