Montgomery County Police are on the hunt for an armed, masked man who they say broke into a Bethesda home Wednesday morning and held a mother, her son and their housekeeper hostage for about an hour.

Police now say that the housekeeper was sexually assaulted by one of the suspects, ABC7's Brad Bell reports.

“We're in a state of shock cause it's a very peaceful neighborhood,” says Aurora Wheeland, a neighbor of the victims. “So I think people are going to be more careful from now on.”

The incident happened in the 9200 block of Bardon Road at about 6:45 a.m. Police say that shortly after the housekeeper arrived at the home, she heard knock at the door and went to answer it.

That's when the assailant forced his way into the home, police say. The three people inside were bound while the suspect burglarized the residence.

Police say the suspect then fled in the housekeeper’s 2005 gray Ford Expedition. The car has Maryland license tags: 4AE-7450. Police say the SUV also has a McDaniel College sticker on it.

The housekeeper was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Police say the man used a stolen credit card at a CVS in L'Enfant Plaza.

Authorities are now linking this incident with another home invasion-robbery in Wheaton on Jan. 10.

Authorities said in that case, the suspect robbed a woman in the 2900 block of McMahon Road.
