Barbara Williams arrested for hit-and-run, leaving child home alone
January 6, 2012 - 05:44 am
Police arrested a D.C. woman, suspected in a hit-and-run accident, after discovering she had left her 6-year-old daughter home unattended while she went to a gas station.
Authorities say Barbara Williams hit a tow truck in the parking lot of the Sheetz gas station on Wednesday, and left the scene. While following behind Williams’ car, the tow truck driver then led police to her home in the 100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. When officers arrived, Williams was still inside her vehicle.
Police say Williams was arrested for the hit-and-run and failed a series of standardized field sobriety tests. She was later released after posting a $7,500 bond.
No injuries were reported.
