Not only did Ben Stiller take over the Smithsonian, but he is set to take over all of Washington. HBO just ordered a pilot for a comedy about a Jewish family living in Washington, according to the Washington Post. Stiller will be starring in the show and will be the executive producer and director.

The series originates from novelist, Jonathan Safran Foer, who is also among the show's executive producers. Foer is the author of "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" and "Everything Is Illuminated."

HBO guarantees that the comedy will be "politically, religiously, culturally, intellectually and sexually irreverent," according to the Washington Post.

"Ben Stiller continues to be a major, multi-talented star because of his discerning ability to embrace creative and innovative projects-whatever the medium," said HBO's president of programming, Michael Lombardo.

Recent reality shows set in D.C. such as "The Real World; D.C" as well as "The Real Housewives of Washington" have received dismal ratings.
