Megastars Beyonce and Jay-Z’s newborn baby daughter may have gotten another famous backer—reports say that Oprah Winfrey was asked to be little Blue Ivy Carter’s godmother.

Media Takeout reported that Oprah was chosen to be their daughter’s godmother because the couple have been close to the media icon over the past years.
Blue Ivy, who was born Jan. 8, is Beyonce and Jay-Z’s first child. Insiders say that Oprah sent over a trunk full of children’s books welcoming the baby girl into the world.
