Brittany Norwood to be sentenced in Lululemon murder case
ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) - A woman convicted of killing her coworker at an upscale yoga clothing shop is preparing to learn her fate.
Brittany Norwood is scheduled to be sentenced Friday afternoon in Montgomery County Circuit Court.
She was convicted of first-degree murder two months ago in the March 2011 slaying of Jayna Murray inside the Lululemon Athletica clothing shop in Bethesda.
Prosecutors said Norwood fatally stabbed and bludgeoned Murray hundreds of times inside the shop, then doctored the crime scene to make it look like the women had been attacked.
Prosecutors are seeking a sentence of life without parole for Norwood, but her lawyers say she deserves a chance of rehabilitation.
Norwood will have a chance to make a statement, as will Murray's family.
