D.C. Council chairman Kwame Brown to preview legislation
January 3, 2012 - 08:07 am
WASHINGTON (AP) - The D.C. Council is heading back to work after its holiday break, and Chairman Kwame Brown plans to offer a preview of new legislation.
Brown will brief reporters Tuesday morning about actions to be taken at the council's upcoming legislative meeting.
The Democratic council chair now plans to hold such briefings on a monthly basis. Last year was a relatively quiet one for the council in terms of major legislation. The council approved a package of ethics reforms and an income tax increase on the wealthy.
