Dulles Metrorail project in Loudoun County could be scrapped
The expansion of the Metro's new Silver Line into Loudoun County may soon go on hold.
WTOP's Hank Silverberg reports that the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors is considering pulling out of Phase 2 of the massive, $2.8 billion project that would extend the new Metro line to Washington Dulles International Airport and beyond.
The cancellation of the Loudoun County portion of the project would scrap two stations.
Earlier this week, a Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority board member floated the idea of using the planned Route 28 Metro stop to be the one that officially services Dulles, connecting the station to the airport with a People Mover.
