Fairfax, Prince William County female robbery suspect sought
A team of Fairfax County, Prince William County and Manassas Park detectives are on the hunt for a woman that they say is responsible for four separate robberies in the county since Dec. 29.
The robberies all took place at convenience stores and gas stations in Chantilly, Manassas Park, Manassas and Falls Church.
“She must be desperate,” says Ashley Prime, a customer of one of the stores. “I don't know, it must be a really rough, rough time she must be really vulnerable to do something like that.”
In each robbery, the suspect is described as a white woman in her early 20s, standing 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-7 inches tall. She has been seen wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and dark pants. She used a silver or black handgun in each of the robberies and, in the most recent robbery, she covered her face with a black mask.
The first two robberies occurred only 40 minutes apart on Dec. 29. The first one took place at a Shell gas station at 13704 Lee Jackson Memorial Highway in Chantilly at about 10:30 p.m.
Then, just before 11:10 p.m., the suspect robbed a 7-Eleven at 8521 Centreville Road in Manassas Park.
As she leans over the counter toward the cash register, a car pulls up outside and scares her off. The store manager says the distraction was a blessing.
“Thanks for that customer that came in, he saved one of my employees and some money also,” says Mandit Singh, a store manager.
On New Years Day, the suspect struck again, this time at the 7-Eleven at 10740 Coverstone Drive in Manassas at about 2:30 a.m.
The most recent robbery took place on Jan. 10 when the suspect robbed an Exxon at 7519 Leesburg Pike in Falls Church.
“We have kids with guns. Why not women?” says Charles Maddox, a customer at one of the stores. “It's unusual because of the economic situation there's no telling what's going to happen.”
