Football argument in Fredericksburg leads to men thrown through window
A passion for football overtook common sense for a group of men near a Fredericksburg bar early Sunday morning when two men were thrown through a glass window.
Fredericksburg Police officials say that they responded to F.W. Sullivan's, a restaurant at 409 William Street, at about 2 a.m. Sunday after reports of a fight between rival groups of fans.
Witnesses say that during the altercation, two men, who were arguing about that day's NFL conference championship games, were thrown from the sidewalk through a large window. One of the men suffered a severe cut to his elbow and was treated at the scene.
The Free Lance-Star reports that the rival fans were supporters of the Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots, in which the New England Patriots beat the Baltimore Ravens for a trip to the Super Bowl.
A Tennessee man, 30-year-old Brad Mullins, was arrested on charges of felony destruction of property. He's being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
Several other people involved in the fight have not been located, police say. Authorities say that several people left the area in the immediate aftermath of the fight.
