Frances M. Barnes, 53, found dead near Leonardtown Wharf

Maryland State Police have identified the body of a man discovered in the water near the Leonardtown Wharf Saturday.

At 10:30 a.m., two kayakers discovered a body about 30 feet from shore at the Leonardtown Wharf located in Leonardtown, Md.

Police identified the body as Frances M. Barnes, 53, of Hollywood, Md. Barnes had been reported as a missing person on January 24, 2012.

The body was taken to the medical examiner's office where an autopsy will be performed.
