Frank Stirewalt captured in Va. after attempting to flee police
An Elkwood, Va man was taken into custody Tuesday following a pursuit for the man who was trying to get flee the law.
The Culpeper’s Sheriff Department Det. Kiline Madison was interviewing Frank C. Stirewalt II in the parking lot of Wal-Mart in Culpeper, when the police department learned that Stirewalt was wanted on an outstanding warrant for being a fugitive from justice from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
The man fled the parking lot in a Chevrolet Trailblazer. Madison pursued the suspect at reported high speeds. When Stirewalt tried to make a turn at a light, Madison used his vehicle to hit the suspect’s car.
Stirewalt II, 27, is now charged with several offenses, including attempt to escape by force or violence, intentionally possessing or transporting ammunition or a firearm after having been convicted of a felony, driving while having a suspended or revoked license and felony attempt to elude.
In addition to the suspect, his wife, Brandy N. Stirewalt, 21, of Elkwood, is charged with possession of a substance. Brandy Stirewalt was in the suspect's vehicle at the time of the pursuit.
Neither the deputy, nor the couple, was injured during the incident.
The couple are being held in the Culpeper County Jail without bail.
