George Lucas is retiring
January 18, 2012 - 04:38 pm
George Lucas, the writer/director of the most grossing and famous action films in the last thirty-five years, has decided to retire from producing blockbuster films, according to The Telegraph.
His latest and last film, Red Tails, to be released this Friday, failed to receive studio funding and was forced to finance it on his own. Any future projects will be smaller and be shown in art houses. Lucas expressed he wants to get away from the business of producing modern Hollywood pictures.
However, if the Indiana Jones franchise has a possibility of continuing, he will be glad to pursue it. But for now, he will only pursue independent passion projects.
