Home invasion, sex assault suspect still at large
A day after the photo of a suspect was released far and wide, police say they still don't know his identity.
That is concerning to Montgomery County police say because the man shown walking into a downtown drug store is wanted for two brazen, broad daylight home invasion robberies less than 24 hours apart.
“We have not gotten anything back yet from the photograph,” says Sgt. Jennifer McNeal.
Tuesday mid-morning, the man is believed to have accosted a woman at gunpoint in her garage in a military housing community in Wheaton.
Wednesday morning, the then-masked gunman jumped a housekeeper and forced his way into the house where she worked. Once inside, he tied up the homeowner and her teenage son, ransacked the home and sexually assaulted the housekeeper.
Neighbors say they'll feel little peace until he's caught.
“I've lived in this neighborhood for twenty years. And there have been various incidents over the years. But this is rather shocking,” says Paul Wingfield. “I'm concerned about my wife she's at home sometimes alone and its very disturbing.”
