James Garvin pleads guilty in Harrry Thomas theft case
WASHINGTON (AP) - Another person involved in a corruption case that led to the resignation of a D.C. Council member has agreed to plead guilty to his role in the case, an outcome that had been expected.

James Garvin was charged Tuesday by criminal information, which signals a person's intent to plead guilty. Garvin's attorney, Vandy Jamison, had indicated the plea deal was coming.
Jamison also represents another man involved in the corruption case, Marshall D. Banks.
Banks pleaded guilty Friday to helping to cover up the theft of government funds by former D.C. Councilmember Harry Thomas Jr. Both Banks and Garvin face the same charge of helping to conceal Thomas' actions.
The charge carries a possible sentence of up to three years in prison. A hearing for Garvin is scheduled for Wednesday.
