Kevin Ray arrested in N.C. for Montgomery County home-invasion robberies, sexual assault
Montgomery County Police have arrested a man in North Carolina on a warrant for home-invasion armed robberies and sexual assault in Wheaton, Bethesda and Temple Hills.
Kevin Ray, age 33, of the 12400 block of Gable Lave, Fort Washington, was identified from a surveillance photograph as he used one of the victim's credit cards, police said. They received numerous tips on his identity after the photo was released to the public.
After police learned that Ray was believed to be in the area of Currituck County, North Carolina, an arrest warrant was obtained.
Montgomery County detectives, assigned to the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force went to North Carolina.
At approximately 10:20 a.m. this morning, Ray was taken into custody in Kitty Hawk.
Ray is currently in custody in Dare County, North Carolina, pending an extradition hearing. The arrest warrant for Ray includes charges of robbery, first degree sex assault, use of a handgun in the commission of a felony, and first degree assault.
