Man hit by train at Metro Center Station

Police are investigating how a man was hit by a train at the Metro Center Station overnight.

A Metro spokesman says the man, who’s in his 60’s, was struck by a Blue Line train on the lower level platform then trapped under a third rail car. It happened shortly before midnight.
The man was taken to George Washington Hospital Center in critical condition.
Metro officials are reviewing surveillance video and gathering witness statements to determine what caused the accident.
