Joel Craig Brown shot and killed in Adelphi

Prince George's County Police detectives are working to determine a motive and locate a suspect in the Tuesday night shooting death of a 40-year-old man in Adelphi.

The shooting victim, Joel Craig Brown of Silver Spring, was found in front of an apartment complex in the 1800 block of Metzerott Road at about 6:40 p.m., Prince George's County Police say.

Sources tell ABC7's Brad Bell that the shooting was the result of a robbery and that the Audi that Brown owned is missing.

Brown, who is Jamaican but holds a Canadian driver's license, was taken in critical condition to an area hospital after he was found, but he later died. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information in the murder is asked to call Prince George's County Police or Crime Solvers.
