Man trapped in cave in Clear Spring, Maryland
January 25, 2012 - 12:26 am
Crews in Washington County rescued a man trapped deep inside a cave in Clear Spring Tuesday evening.
Rescue crews were called to the 13500 block of Cresspond Road. A man believed to be in his 20s was in the cave as part of an explorers group and down about 250 or 300 feet, when he somehow got stuck on a ledge and became trapped between some rocks.
The man was eventually freed and flown to Shock Trauma for evaluation.
At one point there were about 75 rescue team members and two rescue choppers from Washington County, Frederick County, Advance Technical Rescue and Montgomery County on the scene.
No other information was immediately known.
