The Charles County Sheriff's Office on Thursday arrested Marsellis Laron Ledwell for the murder of Torris Powell, Jr.
Ledwell, 23, allegedly murdered Powell, 41, on Jan. 20. Both men are from Waldorf.
An investigation started on Jan. 21 when Prince George's County Police Department and Emergency Medical Services responded to a report of an injured person in Upper Marlboro. Police and EMS found Powell deceased in the passenger seat of a vehicle.
The Prince George's Police Department's initial investigation revealed Powell had been in a fight in Waldorf the evening of Jan. 20. The incident was ruled a homicide.
On Jan. 25, Ledwell turned himself in at the CCSO. He was charged with second-degree murder and first- and second-degree assault and is being held at the Charles County Detention Center without bond.
