Overnight lane closures on Anacostia Freeway in Southeast
WASHINGTON (AP) - District transportation officials are cautioning motorists they'll be implementing single-lane closures on a northbound section of the Anacostia Freeway in southeast Washington for repaving starting Friday evening and running through noon Saturday.
The District Department of Transportation issued a statement that single-lane closures on the freeway will be conducted between Howard Road and Pennsylvania Avenue in Southeast starting around 8 p.m. Friday.
The statement says the lane closures will allow for repaving work associated with the 11th Street bridge project and motorists should also expect 20-minute traffic stoppages from midnight to 5 a.m. Saturday.
Officials note work could be rescheduled in the event of bad weather or other unforeseen conditions.
