A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured Monday afternoon at a bus stop in Gaithersburg, Montgomery County police said.
A man was sitting at a bus stop near the intersection of Muncaster Mill Road and Laytonia Drive when a passenger vehicle apparently lost control after coming over the hill, left the roadway, and hit the bus stop, striking the man.
The pedestrian was taken to Suburban Hospital. The driver was not injured and remained on the scene.
A crash reconstruction unit was called to the scene.
No other information was immediately available.
