Police arrest three suspected of stealing police radio, vest
January 16, 2012 - 06:03 pm
Montgomery County Police arrested two men and a juvenile Monday who are suspected of stealing a police radio and vest from a police cruiser.
At about 2:30 p.m. Monday, the three suspects broke into an off-duty police officer’s cruiser near Georgia Avenue and Hildarose Drive in Forest Glen.
The officer discovered the men breaking into his car, who then fled in a maroon minivan that had been reported stolen Sunday. They were then involved in a hit-and-run accident a short distance away on Seminary Road.
The suspects then abandoned the minivan in the driveway of a home on Brookville Road. Shortly thereafter, police apprehended the men near Third Avenue and Glen Ross Road in Silver Spring.
