The Washington Examiner reports that city health officials inspected the site on Tuesday afternoon and conduct a thorough inspection of the camp's kitchen on Thursday.

Protesters at the camp closed the kitchen on Tuesday but are hoping to reopen it after Thursday's inspection.

The inspections were ordered by Mayor Vincent Gray, who is expected to receive a report back on Friday about the conditions at McPherson Square and an encampment at Freedom Plaza.

A Health Department spokeswoman says some additional recommendations will be made after the inspection on Thursday.
