Rep. Allen West tells Obama "get the hell out of" U.S.
Rep. Allen West caused a stir on Sunday evening when he offered harsh words to President Barack Obama and the Democratic leadership, telling them to "get the hell out of the United States."
West (R-Fla.) made his controversial comments while speaking to a Lincoln Day Dinner in West Palm Beach, Florida for the Palm Beach County GOP, the Palm Beach Post reported.
"We need to let President Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and my dear friend the chairman of the Democratic National Committee, we need to let them know that Florida ain't on the table," West said.
"Take your message of equality of achievement, take your message of economic dependency, take your message of enslaving the entrepreneurial will and spirit of the American people somewhere else," West said.
"You can take it to Europe, you can take it to the bottom of the sea, you can take it to the North Pole, but get the hell out of the United States of America."
His comments were met with applause.
"I will not allow President Obama to take the United States of America and destroy it." Allen said.
“If that means I’m the No. 1 target for the Democratic party, all I have to say is one thing: Bring it on.”
Allen made the remarks in the midst of the tense Florida GOP primary.
