Sheldon Snead, K'Vaughn Brandon Hines arrested and charged in Greenbelt attack
Police arrested two suspected in connection with the gang rape of a 24-year-old woman who was attacked near the Greenbelt Metro station in December.
Police arrested Sheldon Snead, 18, and K'Vaughn Brandon Hines, 18, and charged each with one count of first degree rape, second degree rape, first degree sexual assault and other related charges.
Both suspects are currently being held without bond at the Department of
Corrections in Upper Marlboro.
Police say the victim was walking along Cherrywood Lane around 4 a.m. on Dec. 17 when up to four men jumped out and dragged her back near a wooded area. They raped her and beat her. The ordeal lasted for nearly an hour.
The victim finally managed to get back out to Cherrywood Lane and flag down some joggers, who called police. She was treated at the hospital for severe facial injuries and released Saturday night.
