January 30, 2012 - 06:17 pm
A University of Maryland student had her cell phone snatched while walking near McKeldin Library on McKeldin Mall.
The male then fled toward the Chincoteague building.
University police investigators obtained video of a person fitting the description of the suspect approaching other individuals earlier that same day in the Washington Quad and engaging in conversation.
See the video here.
The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5' 05" tall; thin to medium build; 18 - 20 years of age; last seen wearing a light green and black striped pull-over hooded shirt and dark pants.
Police would like these individuals to contact police detectives at 301-405-3555 or email investigations@umpd.umd.edu.
