Weekend Metro delays impact all lines but Yellow
The first weekend of major track work throughout the Metro system will cause delays on the Red, Blue, Orange and Green Lines starting Friday night.
On the Red Line, trains will single-track in two spots: between Dupont Circle and Friendship Heights, and between Takoma and Forest Glen. Extra trains will run between Fort Totten and Farragut North between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Trains will share a track on the Blue/Orange Line between Smithsonian and Eastern Market. Trains will arrive at stations every 13 minutes.
The Green Line will see single-tracking in two places as well: between Georgia Avenue-Petworth and Fort Totten, and between Naylor Road and Branch Avenue.
All work is set to begin at 10 p.m. Friday and will be continue through the closure of the system on Sunday.
