Yesterday's snow creates slick morning commute
January 10, 2012 - 06:39 am
Monday night's surprise blanket of snow was pretty and unexpected, but the concern for commuters on Tuesday morning was that the precipitation would create a treacherous drive.
The falling flakes created a dicey drive home and unwanted delays for thousands during Monday night's rush hour.

For commuter Antoine Greene, his typical 20-minute drive home tripled.
"Everybody was going about 10 miles per hour, so it took me an hour to get to Chantilly," Greene said.
Salt trucks and plows hit the road early to try and ease the worries of drivers who feared that wet snow would turn into slick spots and black ice.
