Alexis Simpson has status hearing Friday in Dominque Frazier murder
The Bowie State University student who stands accused of stabbing her roommate to death in their dorm room last September faces a status hearing on Friday.

Frazier was stabbed to death during an argument, allegedly over the volume level of an iPod, on Sept. 15. The incident occurred inside Bowie State's Christa McAuliffe Residential Community. The suspect later turned herself into Prince George's County Police.
A preliminary investigation showed that Frazier and Simpson were allegedly arguing in the residential suite they shared when the shouting match turned into a physical altercation. During the fight, Frazier was stabbed in the neck at least once.

Simpson's lawyers have argued that she acted in self defense.
"I heard a bunch of girls screaming, I walked out into the hallway, went to the left, and I saw this girl, she was sitting on the floor, she was (covered) in blood," said Donovan Settles, who was visiting friends at the school on the night of the stabbing.
The stabbing took place during Bowie State's homecoming weekend.
