Belfort Furniture of Dulles wins national award
Belfort Furniture, of Dulles, Va., won the National Home Furnishings Association's Retailers of the Year for 2012.
The annual awards are NHFA's highest honor. "It recognizes outstanding contributions to the home furnishings industry, exemplary service to the community and personal business achievements," according to Furniture Today.
Belfort won in the category of retailers with annual sales volume under $10 million.
Mike and Kristi Huber founded the company in 1987, according to Furniture today. Within five years, Belfort had 25 employees. The company opened a 35,000-square-foot Belfort Galleries in Dulles several years later.
Belfort continued to expand and is recognized also for its contributions to charitable groups, including the American Cancer Society.
