Clinton Walmart carjacking suspect caught by police
The suspect in a Wednesday morning carjacking outside a Prince George's County Walmart has been caught by police, officials say.
Police say that the incident began just after 7:30 a.m. at the Walmart at 8745 Branch Ave. in Clinton, where a man was carjacked near the store.
Shortly after the carjacking, the suspect was involved in a crash on northbound Branch Avenue near the Capital Beltway with at least four other cars. The suspect was able to flee from the scene and officers after the collision, though.
Nearby neighbors tell ABC7's John Gonzalez that they saw the suspect running through their backyards before police tracked him down. Police then say that a K9 unit found him hiding in a storm drain.
The victim was not injured. The suspect, thought, was bitten by a police dog.
