Prince William County Police arrested a 21-year-old man Sunday night in connection with a fatal stabbing in Manassas.

Police say that Edwin Guzman Lopez stabbed and killed 22-year-old Edwin Noe Enamorado Maute of Manassas after a verbal fight. He is being charged with first-degree murder.

Authorities say that they responded to a stabbing in the 7600 block of Somerset Lane in Manassas on Sunday night.

Enamorado Maute and Lopez were allegedly involved in a verbal altercation when the victim tried to run from Lopez, but fell. Lopez allegedly stabbed the victim several times before witnesses intervened.

He was transported to an area hospital where he later died.

Lopez' court date is set for March 16, and he is being held without bond
