Fiery fatal crash on Capital Beltway in Chevy Chase slows traffic

One person was killed Friday morning when a car and tractor trailer collided on the Inner Loop of the Capital Beltway near Chevy Chase, police say.
Police say one person was killed when a car and a tractor-trailer collided on the Inner Loop near Connecticut Avenue in Chevy Chase about 3 a.m. The accident caused the car to catch fire.
Lanes were closed and traffic was snarled by the cleanup well into the morning commute.
