Leslie Carter dies at 25

Leslie Carter, sister of singers Nick Carter (of the Backstreet Boys) and Aaron Carter, passed away this morning in upstate New York. She was 25.

The cause of her death is still unknown.

"Our family is grieving right now and it's a private matter. We are deeply saddened for the loss of our beloved sister, daughter, and granddaughter, Leslie Carter," the Carter family said in a statement, according to eonline.com. "We request the utmost privacy during this difficult time."

Leslie was also a singer and her song "Like Wow" was featured on the Shrek soundtrack. She also appeared in the E reality show with the rest of the Carter family on House of Carters.

She is survived by her husband, Mike, and her 9-month-old daughter, Alyssa Jane.
