Little snow, but beware of icy morning commute
February 9, 2012 - 07:09 am
Black ice that formed overnight may make travel conditions Thursday morning difficult in many areas of the D.C. region.
The National Weather Service issued an alert for commuters in Loudoun County about the slippery commute.
Despite winter weather advisories issued on Wednesday, there wasn’t much snow that fell in the region. But the little snow we did get caused an increase of moisture in the atmosphere, says ABC7 Meteorologist Brian van de Graaff, and coupled with the colder templates, may create slippery spots during the morning commute.
Motorists are urged to use caution and give yourself enough time to move slowly through those troubled areas.
