Monday is the last day Washington voters can change their party affiliation before the primary election.

The primary will determine which candidates are on the ballot in November's general election.

But only members of the Democratic, Republican and D.C. Statehood Green parties are eligible to vote.

Approximately 17 percent of registered voters in the city are not affiliated with a political party and will therefore be unable to vote in the primary election unless they switch parties.
