MPD: Police chase ends when suspect vehicle crashes on New York Avenue
ABC7's Autria Godfrey was the only reporter to interview the drivers whose cars became part of the police barricade that stopped the runaway driver. WATCH her report and hear the words of those drivers in the video above.
MPD confirms that a car chase of a high risk subject by Maryland State Police that came from the Baltimore-Washington Parkway and winded its way onto inbound New York Avenue stopped late Friday night after the suspect crashed into four civilian vehicles.
Police say they got calls from drivers about a black Lincoln Navigator Pickup driving erratically on the B-W Parkway near Maryland State Route 212. Troopers began following the vehicle southbound on BW Parkway to inbound Route 50/New York Avenue.
Police set up a barricade at Florida Avenue, where the suspect eventually crashed.
There were no injuries reported. The suspect was apprehended. It is not known at this time what he was wanted for. Traffic speeds were as slow as 10 miles-per-hour in the area of the crash.
