Nancy Pelosi makes satirical 'Stop Colbert' ad
February 11, 2012 - 08:44 am
House minority leader Nancy Pelosi is trying her hand at comedy with a satirical ad aimed at Stephen Colbert and campaign contributions.
“Since the day he started his Super PAC, taking secret money from special interests, he’s been out of control," the ad says of Colbert.
The ad, which has gone viral, was a call for Congress to pass the DISCLOSE Act — legislation born out of the Citizen’s United decision that allowed unlimited amounts of money to be given to independent groups supporting political candidates.
The House passed the original legislation in June 2010, but it failed one month later in the Senate.
