New York Avenue is fastest growing Metro station
February 22, 2012 - 06:42 am
WASHINGTON (AP) - Metro says the New York Avenue station is attracting riders faster than any other in the transit system.
The Washington Examiner, citing numbers from the transit agency, says the red line station showed an 18.6 percent increase in the number of riders from July to January compared with the same period a year earlier.
Metro says the Clarendon station in Arlington County was second with 14.4 percent growth.
In Maryland, Medical Center saw an 11.6 percent growth in part because of a shift in military jobs in the region.
