Sir Paul McCartney was finally able to join his fellow Beatles on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

His star was appropriately placed next to Ringo Starr and the late George Harrison and John Lennon in front of the Capitol Records building at 1750 Vine Street.

Many Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members came along to support McCartney, including Neil Young, who provided an introduction.

"When I was in high school and the Beatles came out, I loved the Beatles and I tried to learn how to play like them, and no one could figure out what Paul was doing on the bass. Not only was he playing differently because he plays left-handed, he played notes that no one had put together before -- in a way that made us stand in awe of this great musician," according to the LA Times.

When it came to be McCartney's turn to speak, he first recognized his roots in the industry, paying tribute to "three other guys--so thanks, John, George, and Ringo."

Starr was unable to attend due to being "under the weather," McCartney said, according to the LA Times.

The day of the ceremony was none other than the 48th anniversary of the Beatle's appearance on the Ed Sullivan show as well as being two days after the release of his latest album "Kisses on the Bottom."

McCartney is scheduled to perform at the Grammy Awards this Sunday
