Second student dies after Ohio school shooting
A second victim wounded when a teenager in Ohio opened fire on high school students in a lunchroom Monday has died, ABC News reports.
According to the Associated Press, authorities say the student, identified as Russell King Jr., has been declared brain dead.
Hugh Shannon, administrator at the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office, says officials received the word early Tuesday about King's condition.
Shannon says the office is continuing to investigate the manner and cause of death.
The 17-year-old King was one of five students injured when a teenager opened fire in the cafeteria at Chardon High School Monday morning. One other student died.
A spokeswoman for a hospital caring for two students wounded in the school shooting says the children's conditions remain unchanged.
Heather Phillips of the Cleveland Clinic says one student is in serious condition and the other in stable condition at the clinic's Hillcrest Hospital in suburban Mayfield Heights.
Phillips said Tuesday morning the hospital is not releasing the students' names at the request of their families.
The conditions of another student taken to MetroHealth System weren't immediately available.
