Still no suspects in infant girl's death
D.C. police are still investigating the death of an unidentified black baby girl found on Channing Street NE in the Gateway neighborhood earlier this month.
On Jan. 15 at 11:34 p.m., the baby girl was found abandoned in the 3000 block of Channing Street NE. On Wednesday, MPD officials released an image of the striped towel in which the child was wrapped.
MPD officials hope that someone will recognize the towel and come forward with information about the infant's parents or anyone else who may have abandoned the girl.
Police arrived to find a resident trying to administer CPR to the unconscious baby.
Emergency personnel transported the baby to Children's National Medical Center where the infant died.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.
